Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park
Village No. 2, Ban Khao Daeng, Khao Daeng Subdistrict, Kui Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province 77150
Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park features limestone mountains dating back to the Permian period, approximately 280 to 230 million years ago. The park's geography includes steep cliffs along the coastline intertwined with coastal plains, mudflats, and shallow sea waters. Stretching about 30 kilometers from Khao Kralok in the north to Khao Raeng in the south, the park encompasses numerous limestone islands such as Ko Khorram, Ko Nom Sao, Ko Rawang, Ko Rawing, Ko Sattakood, and Ko Ki Nok. To the west of the park lies the Sam Roi Yot plain, an area that remains flooded year-round. This plain was once a sea or gulf that gradually receded due to sediment and sandbar formations, transforming into brackish and freshwater marshes influenced by freshwater inflows from the land. Freshwater in this area originates partly from the Tenasserim mountain range through streams like Huai Phra Dok, Huai Khamin, Huai Nong Kang, and Huai Rai Tapueng, which eventually drain into the sea via Khlong Khao Daeng. Another portion of freshwater flows from the Sam Roi Yot mountains. The average water depth in the Sam Roi Yot plain is approximately 3 meters.

Luang Pho To, Wat Tal Chet Yot
Village No. 4, Sam Roi Yot, Prachuap Khiri Khan
Wat Tan Chet Yod is the village’s principal temple, and its name is believed to originate from a palm tree called "Tan Chet Yod" that was cut down during the construction of the Southern Railway line in 1957. The temple’s most striking feature, visible from afar, is the large bronze statue of Somdej Phra Phuttha Chao (Toh Prommarangsi). This statue measures 11 meters wide at the base, 18 meters high, and weighs about 50,000 kilograms, making it the largest statue of Somdej Phra Phuttha Chao (Toh Prommarangsi) in the world. In front of the temple, there are life-size statues of several renowned monks, such as Phra Ajahn Mun, Luang Pu Thuat, Luang Pu Suk, Luang Pu Sot, and others. Inside the temple is a sacred holy water pond, a replica of the one at Wat Intrawihan, featuring statues of 28 Buddhas around its edge, allowing visitors to pay respect and seek blessings. Additionally, there is a wax statue of Somdej Phra Phuttha Chao (Toh Prommarangsi) that devotees can also venerate.
